Previously I have built cars from blueprints and reference images. Well for this project (perhaps series of projects) I’m designing from scratch! To start there is always research required. Looking at the big brands: Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and McLaren as main design inspirations. Paying particular attention to body flow. This is an on going project!
Using Blender3D I created a scene of lines, that would represent the main features. I will only be using Blender3D for the design part of the project, this will provide high quality blueprints I can work with using other software.
Line Design (Current Stage)
Many iterations of line design have been made and there are still modifications to make. This stage is vital to the rest of the project.
Using a graphics tablet input I am able to draw directly into the computer. Whilst browsing Tumblr I noticed a popular theme for deer. I decided to draw one in my own style. There is a simple outline in white, that without would make the shaded parts harder to understand. These lines are what balance out the image from the edge of the image. The simple pale colour scheme reflects on the gentleness of the deer itself. This project took about 1.5 hours.
I originally drew this in manga studio but i decided i wanted the edges to look more rough, so i exported into Art Rage and added some realistic brushes over the top, and i composted the image in photoshop. this took 3 and bit hours, (I couldnt sleep).
Fan art drawing of a favorite band of mine. The of Mice and Men “&” logo, covered in ivy. Created using Blender3D, Mangastudio and Photoshop.
The idea of drawing this sprung to my whilst I was browsing tumblr. I gathered reference images together and surrounded myself with them. after sketching around I created a good pose, I then layered drawings ontop of eachother getting increasingly accurate after each pass. This drawing took about 2 days to draw and edit:) drawing was done in manga studio and the colours and composition were changed in Photoshop.
“Unwise”, I have called it this because the owl (symbol of wisdom) has been shot with an arrow representing unwise decisions of human violence. This drawing has been rather popular on deviant art and I have received much positive feedback. http://mezwik.deviantart.com/art/Unwise-Owl-shot-with-an-arrow-drawing-417620044
